Speck follows QA procedure based on Quality System Manual of the Company. This will include QA Plan, QTP document, ATP document, QMP and QTR / ATR.  QTP and ATP documents are prepared as per MIL 55286 (E) Standards for MIL Shelters and NATO Standards for NATO Shelters.  Speck has full fledged facility for conducting QT and AT.

The shelter will be visually inspected for any defects of de-lamination, welding,riveting, finish, safety etc. and for dimensional accuracies as per manufacturing drawings.
Load Test on Floor : Ref. NATO 6516/SHCPE/86, Para 3.5.13.1 & 2
Floor is tested for Concentrated Load of 10 kN and Point Load of 4 kN.
Load resistance test of roof :Ref. NATO 6516/SHCPE/86, Para 3.5.12.1 & 2
The roof is loaded for 1 hour with an evenly distributed load of 3660 N/m2 and a concentrated load of 3.5 kN for 30 minutes.
Door Latch Torque : (Ref. NATO 6516/SHCPE/86, Para 3.5.16) / (MIL-S-55286E [CR] Para 4.6.16
The maximum Torque required for operating the door latch mechanism for both opening and closing the door shall be measured at the door handle centre and shall not exceed 40 Nm.
Air Tightness test : Ref. NATO 6516/SHCPE/86, Para 3.5.7) / (MIL-S-55286E [CR] Para 4.6.10
The shelter shall be pressurized to 150mm of water column with door, hatches, and covers etc., closed. The air flow necessary to maintain this pressure shall be less than 0.8 Ltrs/Sec.
Impact Test on Panel : MIL-S-55286E [CR] Para 4.6.7)/ NATO 6516/SHCPE/86, Para 3.5.6
A 600 x 600 mm panel specimen selected from the same batch of panel material taken for first panel wall manufacturing, supported rigidly along its four edges shall be subjected to the impact of a steel cylinder, weighing 70 pounds (32 kg), with a diameter of 3 inches (76 mm) and a semi-spherical end, dropped onto the centre of the specimen from a height of 30 inches (76 cm).
Skidding test-on rollers/ground : Ref. NATO 6516/SHCPE/86, Para 3.5.15.2
The shelter loaded with its maximum payload shall be balanced and rolled on a 50mm pipe anywhere along the three skids
EMI/RFI test : MIL-S-55286E [CR] Para 4.6.29
The attenuation shall be measured in accordance with the requirements of MIL-STD-285 at the following frequencies:
  • 150 to 200 KHz range for low impedance magnetic field.
  • 0.2 MHz, 1.0 MHz, and 18.0 MHz for high impedance electric field.
  • 400 MHz, 1000 MHz, and 10,000 MHz for plane waves.
Towing Simulated : NATO 6516/SHCPE/86, Para 3.5.15.4)/(MIL-S-55286E [CR] Para 4.6.23
The shelter shall be placed so that the outboard vertical face of one skid is flush against a 1.25 (32 mm) ± 0.125 (3 mm) inch high face which is rigidly secured to the ground and which runs the full length of the skid. A 3000 pound (1360 kg) force shall be applied to each roadside towing eye. Each force shall be in a direction parallel to the ground and perpendicular to theside of the shelter. The shelter shall be restrained from sliding or rotating. The test shall be repeated on the curb side skid and towing eyes.
Rigidity of lifting and towing on ISO coners : MIL-S-55286E [CR] Para 4.6.24) / (NATO 6516/SHCPE/86, Para 3.5.14
Each lifting and towing eye on the shelter shall be subjected to a tensile load applied in each of 3 mutually perpendicular directions which are described by the line of intersection of two adjacent panels. The test shall be performed by outward pulls between each adjacent pair of eyes. All pulls shall be to 14400 pounds (6545 kg).
Load test on door : Ref. NATO 6516/SHCPE/86, Para 3.5.17)/(MIL-S-55286E [CR] Para 4.6.26
Open the shelter's door 90°, Hang a 90 kg (900N) weight on door's top at a distance of 80 cm from hinge pivot line for a period of 30 minutes.
Roof access steps test : Ref. NATO 6516/SHCPE/86, Para 3.5.18)/(MIL-S-55286E [CR] Para 4.6.27
A vertical load of 1.8 KN (180 KG) shall be suspended from the center of outer of one step selected randomly and maintain for 30 minutes.
Rotational drop test : Ref. NATO 6516/SHCPE/86, Para 3.5.15.1b / MIL-S-55286E [CR] Para 4.6.22.2
The shelter, loaded with its maximum payload, shall have one edge placed on a 10 cm high board. The opposite edge shall be raised 45 cm and allowed to fall freely onto a concrete ground. 4 tests shall be performed; one impact at each side.
 
Rain Test : Ref. NATO 6516/SHCPE/86, Para 3.5.19) / (MIL-S-55286E [CR] Para 4.6.30
The shelter shall be submitted to a simulated rain test for 40 mins. The test equipment shall spray 40 Ltrs./min of water evenly distributed over the roof, the side and end panels. The pressure at each of the 56 nozzles shall not be less than 2 bar.
Flat drop Test : Ref. NATO 6516/SHCPE/86, Para 3.5.15.1a) / (MIL-S-55286E [CR] Para 4.6.22.1
The shelter loaded with its maximum payload shall be lifted 45 cms “measured from the bottom of the skids to the floor” and then dropped freely on to a reinforced concrete floor.
Air transportation simulated : MIL-S-55286E [CR] Para 4.6.25)/ (NATO 6516/SHCPE/86, Para 3.5.23
The shelter shall be loaded with 17500 pounds (7938 kg) of sand bags.The load Shall rest against the floor and sides of the shelter and against boards placed across the door openings. The shelter shall then be suspended by four lifting eyes for a period of 30 minutes.The shelter shall be examined within one hour after removal of the load.
Fording Test : Ref. NATO 6516/SHCPE/86, Para 3.5.10) / (MIL-S-55286E [CR] Para 4.6.31
The shelter shall be immersed in water for 1 hour to the depth of 500 mm measured from the bottom of the shelter skids.
